How to unlock solo
- Start the game and play the tutorial (planet Primora: recover Titanium to repair the ship).
- Once it’s done, Single Player unlocks on the main menu.
- You can skip the tutorial and go straight to Multiplayer, but then solo stays locked until you come back and finish it.
What changes solo
| Solo | Pack of 4 | |
|---|---|---|
| Enemies | Fewer; elites later and in smaller numbers | More; elites earlier and in bigger groups |
| Pace | Slower, “waaay chiller” per players | Chaotic, jobs split between players |
| Blueprints | Most are reachable; a few group puzzles may not be | All |
| Revives | Only from your own tools (Finn’s Play Dead, health mods) | Teammates revive you |
Players who like solo compare it to open-world survival crafting: possible to do everything alone, more fun coordinating parallel tasks with friends.
Solo setup
- Hound: Finn. Play Dead heals you, makes you invulnerable while down and traps nearby enemies. It’s the closest thing to a self-revive. See hounds.
- Turrets: fewer, upgraded Gunners plus one Mortar or Cluster for crowds, so you spend less time repairing. See turrets.
- Mods: Vampiric and Grit and Bear It for sustain, Field Mechanic and Industrial Grade for the base, Grav Leash to haul without building long pipelines. See mods.
- Weapon: Pulse Rifle: big magazine, no aiming conditions for crits.
Solo tips
- Build defenses before you go off to mine or hunt POIs. The swarm escalates while you’re away.
- Use pipelines to move resources back to the Collector while you keep working.
- Extract a little early. A modest extract beats a wipe with nothing banked.
- Check the Star Map for planets with blueprints left before dropping in. See blueprints.
